Thats Life

Hi folks,
A few lines to let you know that I am alive and well, The gremlins are still crowding around me just one thing after another,Working hard but not making much money, A cold/flu I can not seem to shake off, a router failure at home which while easy to fix took hours to sort out, my Wifes car, my pickup just a whole lot of little problems which have kept me out of the hobby shop, which means I have accomplished nothing on that front this year.
I was saddened to hear about Vern,s passing He was one of the nicest old gentlemen you could meet in this Hobby He gave me a lot of good advice and help never criticizing my mistakes but applauding every success He also found the time to answer my son Richard's endless questions. I guess what I am trying to say here is that he epitomized all the values of our club, The AMA, and our hobby in general. You will be missed Vern,Happy landings

Page Supercub is coming along.

I put all the parts together for the photo. It's BIG.
I have the tail group all sanded and hinges are dry fitted. Next need to make the struts and then form/sand the entire model for covering.

LT-25e Video

Take a look at this video I posted on my Blog. The video was taken by Matt and I put it together with some music. We were flying at the KVMA field on 2-9-08. Great day. Soft snow and just a tad of breeze.

Winter

Hi Everyone. Now that xmass and the new year is out of the way. maybe I can get down to some work around here, That is if the gremlins stop and things go right, so far my computer has given me a lot of problems, been given a used laptop and trying to sort that out,as well as the usual assortment of other things (Dryer Quit)(firewood)(brakes on car), You know what I mean we all go through these things at times.
I'm already fed up of the snow, I have to work outside on occasions, and drive the Big truck on less than perfect roads, but what the heck it's my job and this is Maine right, Maybe I can get down to some modeling this weekend, will post some photos if the gremlins return my digital camera.Keep in touch . Ken

DH-2 Building

Hi Joe , Yes but first I have to get the plans, and study them, I,m sure it is within my skill level my main concern is the fuselage structure ( or lack of it) for strength, and how to start that pusher motor, maybe a wand as used on some helicopters and ducted fan motors, will keep you up to speed
Ken

DH2

Ken,
Are you going to build it? If so, keep me informed.

Thanks,
Joe

Posting

If anyone wishes to be able Post to this blog, That for you who may not know,is to be able to write to the page as I have been and not just post a comment, If this thing takes off it will make it a lot easier for you to send pictures and give you your own "soap Box"
Let me know I will be glad to add you
Regards Ken

An Alternative

If we neither get invited to the N/wolk flyin or decide not to go HOW ABOUT an Inter club Fly in held at our field (Jacksons), All the local clubs invited with a Swap Meet on the same Day Add in a pick nick and we might have quite a turnout. I have another Idea some thing I would be happy to organize and sponsor (a small prize unless I can con other people).
It would be a HUFO That is a Humorous Unidentified Flying object. Now you have to let YOUR indignations run riot it HAS to be funny and FLY (take off and land) You have to at least assemble(from a kit)the object. If you can con a test pilot they may fly it(sorry Wayne and Bob you may be busy )We could kick this idea around. Any of the above I would be glad to help organize

Comments of meeting

I have to admit I am one of the Members expressing a negative view as to the Norridgewolk flyin.
My reason is that it becomes nothing more than a static display with the BIG boys letting us use their airspace when they get fed up or have no one to fly but as soon as a member starts a motor the want us down. Now do not get me wrong I enjoyed the company of fellow members met a lot of new people and learned a heck of a lot just sitting around shooting the *hit. Maybe that is what it is about for me though the flying (and looking for mufflers in the long grass)is just as important. If we can not display our skills ( or lack of them as in my case) it is one side of the hobby ALL the visitors Miss out on.
A suggestion should we be invited (I see this is in doubt) is that we have some one maybe the safety officer be in constant contact with the tower (a radio maybe). That way we could fit in better with their program!!!!

Flight Sim

Ok so I shelled out a LITTLE money for another simulator, when it came home I found out it was the first version ( I thought it was G2) of Great Planes, It's far better than the FMS More realistic in flight, Any one have early copy's of add on's I might borrow?

thank you

Hi Guys, Thank you for the office of treasurer. I will do my best to follow in the footsteps of Art, and will be in touch later with him to find out all the details
