meeting

Morning Guys, I have been approached to take the office of Sectary/Treasurer, Now with out Jumping the gun before any nominations are made, And as I will not be able to attend the meeting I would like to make some comments which can be Kicked around.
First real problem is my work schedule all year round I tend to work after lunch 12/1 on Sundays and may not on a busy week get home again until Friday night. That will mean in my absence someone would have to take the minutes and forward them to me.Collecting Dues and the like we can also work around. As to normal contact we have the option of My Cell phone,Text messaging, E-mail,This blog,(for an old fart I'm really getting into this New Tech stuff:).)or the good old phone.
Please understand that I can not always be there at the drop of a hat like Art and to follow in his shoe's is a daunting task. Also I hope I am not Judged on yesterday's debacle in setting this page up:(
Yes If needed I would be pleased to serve.

Screw up

Well I got it running and screwed up the address Joe has been very patient and now linked in Thanks Joe, Ive added Dick and Frank to the list as to people who may post Any one else let me know your wishes, Joe also has admin privileges to the site. next I'm going to work on listing Photos Maybe Joe will send some pics of the Mallard.

Mallard

Hi Guys,
Just a note to let you know I set up differential steering for the Mallard. I was able to set up the three mixes last night in about 15 mins thanks to the servo position display on the DX7. Fantastic device! Isn't technology wonderful!!

Anyway, when I activate the mixes with a switch, the left motor will speed up for a right turn and right for a left turn. How much speedup depends on how much I move the rudder left or right. This morning, I connected all the motors, receiver and battery and tested with a tach. Works GREAT! Up to about 1800 rpm speedup with present settings. I may have to adjust the mixes after I find out how much differential is really needed.

Also looks like normal max throttle prop speed is the same on both. Shouldn't cause any trim issues. Don't know what would happen at speed if differential steering was turned on!

Those two little motors deliver 250+ watts on a half discharged battery spinning MA 6x4-3 blade props!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Joe

ps Added a photo per Ken's request. This can be fun!!

New Start

Ok guys my idea now to make it work,With the winter looming large over us and as we hunker down into our various hobby shops The Idea is to have a space where we can Kick ideas around maybe help each other, I'm hoping that as members use the blog others will jump in with their suggestions, rather like the pick nick table at our field(No nasty fly's, the weather is always fine.)Let me know what you think.
I can do a lot with this blog, including adding you all to the list so that you may post (publish you own thread(subject))add a link to advertise on the blog for model related products which will create revenue to the club EVERY time someone Visits(including you)Pictures video stream
pleas let me have you feed back
